We’ve spent most of our professional lives working for small businesses who help big businesses grow bigger. We’re now keen to broaden our offer to make sure we can help any size business grow. The key requirement for the businesses we work with is that they are owned and managed by people who care.

People who are committed to the long term success of their business and the wellbeing of all those concerned. People who want to leave a positive legacy for the next generation. And people who are less influenced by the short term profit motives of external shareholders and the politics of big corporations.

Our ideal client is a leadership team with a sincere and committed desire to grow a successful business by doing good for the world and aligning their work with their values. They have a vague idea of what their business purpose might be but they don’t know how to articulate it or put it to good use.

The ‘Grow With Purpose’ Programme

The ‘Grow With Purpose’ programme is an incremental, practical and tailored roadmap. It’s designed to guide leadership teams along the path to becoming a purpose driven, wellbeing business. The goal is to develop a strategy, a brand and a team to help your business grow with purpose.

It has four core modules; Find Your Purpose, Grow Your Brand, Grow Your Team and Measure Your Impact.

Find Your Purpose

The goal in this module is to unearth and articulate the unique reason your business exists and the difference it wants to make. It starts with the leaders but we encourage the involvement of as many people as possible. As part fo the process we uncover the individual purpose for each person and the collective purpose for the business. The individual purpose is used as part of the Grow Your Team process. And the collective purpose is then embedded in the business through your strategic vision and goal setting.

Grow Your Brand

Next we look to create a purpose driven brand and marketing plan. The goal here is twofold. Firstly, we want to build your reputation amongst all stakeholders as a purpose driven wellbeing business; the new type of business that wants to make a difference and is at the heart of the wellbeing economy. Secondly, we want to drive sales by creating a customer focused proposition that supports your purpose and creates a compelling point of differentiation against your competitors.

Empower Your Team

In this module we look to create a purpose driven and wellbeing focused empowerment plan for the whole team. This is all about embedding purpose and wellbeing at the heart of your culture. Part of this process will involve engagement and participation. But it can also extend to embedding personal development plans where individuals delve into their own purpose, assess it in light of the collective purpose and identify areas to improve performance, wellbeing and fulfilment.

Measure Your Impact

A big part of becoming a purpose driven, wellbeing business is the willingness to be accountable and transparent. To do this you need to measure the impacts your business has on your world, and share it openly for all to see. There are different ways of doing this with varying degrees of complexity. We’ve been working with the likes of B-Corps, Scotland Can B and UN Sustainability Goals to assess to most appropriate ways to demonstrate your commitment to future generations.


Each module can be tailored to meet your needs. So whatever your current situation, your future aspirations, your budget, your appetite for change or ability to deliver, we can develop a programme to help your business evolve at a pace that suits you. And there are no limits or restrictions to how you access the programme. You can take as many or as few modules as you like.

But you don’t need to make a decision right now. Here’s how your purpose driven adventure will unfold.

 

01 — The 90 Minute Purpose PowWow

The adventure starts by spending an hour and a half getting to know each other and talking all things purpose and wellbeing. In this session you’ll hear more about our offer and get a feel for us as people. And we’ll get to hear more about you, your business aspirations and frustrations and what you’re like as people. Together we’ll chat through what purpose driven and wellbeing focused might look like for your business and why that may or may not be appropriate for your business. We can then share more about our process and tools and broadly outline what the next steps might be. If the journey to becoming a purpose driven, wellbeing business doesn’t feel the right thing to do just now that’s fine - nice to meet you - see you again soon. But if you feel it warrants further investigation then we move on to the next part of the journey.

02 — The Leadership Workshop Exploring Purpose

In this more in-depth and immersive session our goal is to discover how being more purpose driven and wellbeing focused could help your business grow. We’ll look at the changing world you are operating in and why purpose and wellbeing matter to your customers, employees and stakeholders. We’ll then explore the dimensions of being a purpose driven, wellbeing business and which ones are most relevant to you. We’ll then spend some time looking at your individual, leadership purposes and how they might combine into a collective purpose. And we’ll finish the session by mapping out what each module might look like for your personal, tailored ‘Grow With Purpose’ programme.

03 - The Purpose Driven and Wellbeing Focused Business Mindset

Before we formally embark on the modules, we kick start the process with a half day workshop on leadership mindset. This is an important part of the process to make sure the whole leadership team is on board with becoming a purpose driven, wellbeing business and what it might mean for leaders. For some, the new ways of thinking will come naturally. For others, the transition out of old ways of ‘doing business’ will be harder. This session is designed to introduce a raft of different ways of thinking about your business, discuss which ‘new rules of leading’ are appropriate for the team and how comfortable everyone is with any suggested changes.

03 — The 90 Day Plans

The next phases of activity will depend on which modules are most relevant to you and how much time and effort you want to invest in each. Typically, we will first delve into the ‘Find Your Purpose’ module to you help unearth your individual and collective purposes. Then we’ll proceed to the other modules as appropriate. But, whatever the chosen journey, we tend to work in 90 day chunks. This makes life easier to manage for us and you. We’ll lay out a plan for the first 90 days with associated timings, deliverables and costs. And then we’ll make that happen. If everyone is happy with the progress we’re making we’ll move on to the next 90 day plan. So no big contracts. No scary commitments.

The purpose of a business isn’t to make money. The purpose is to create profitable solutions to the challenges we’re currently facing.
